Thorn-Clarke Winery

The winery owners are David and Cheryl Clarke (born Thorn) and their son Sam is the manager of the winery. The Thorn-Clarke family has a long history in the Barossa - six generations of involvement in the region's world famous wine industry. The Thorns have been grape growers in the Barossa since the 1870's. David Clarke's passion for the wine industry lead to the planting of the Kabininge vineyard outside of Tanunda in 1987, which represents the start of a deeper involvement by the family in the Barossa wine industry.

Mount Crawford Chardonnay

This Chardonnay is a fine example of Eden Valley, Mount Crawford climate, soil and aspect combining to display great varietal characters. The light green color has a vibrancy that is characteristic of the wine. Peach and tropical fruit flavors are complemented by a creamy texture from lees contact and a small amount of exposure to French oak. This also gives the wine a rich, long but clean finish with delicious white peach, pear and citrus notes. UPC code: 8 53065 00053 5

Light, bright yellow. Zesty citrus- and orchard fruit-scented nose shows a suave floral overtone and a hint of peach pit. Sharply focused Meyer lemon and pear flavors are light-bodied but nicely concentrated, showing good nervy lift and focus. Finishes dry and tight, with very clarity and spicy persistence. 89 International Wine Cellar

Terra Barossa Chardonnay

The wine is a light straw color. The nose displays some complexity with citrus fruits, some barrel ferment characters and struck match. This is a medium weight wine with melon fruit and citrus characters balanced nicely with good acidity. There is some oatmeal like characters contributing to the rich mouth feel. The wine finishes with good length of citrus fruits.

Terra barossa Shiraz

Deep red colour. The wine is deep and rich smelling with dark fruits, plums and spice with some good oak. There is very rich fruit on the palate with plums, blackberry and sweet spice from the oak. The palate is vibrant and young with a flavoursome viscous mouth feel which will develop complexity with time. There is some slightly chewy tannin which will soften with time and there is great length of fruit flavour.

Bright purple. Smoky cherry and blackcurrant aromas are sharpened and lifted by a peppery quality and a hint of candied flowers. Supple and broad on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors and a touch of olive that becomes stronger with air. Finishes with echoing blue fruit and olive notes, good length and just a whisper of tannins. 88 International Wine Cellar

Shotfire Shiraz

Deep red color. Very lifted and intense nose of blackberry fruit, sweet spice and dark chocolate. The palate is very rich and flavorsome with blackberry and plum fruit. In addition to the primary fruit characters there is plenty of complexity in this wine with spice, earthy notes and graphite also evident. There is heaps of mouth filling flavor complemented by chalky tannins. There is great length of fruit as well.

“90 Points ; ‘purple in colour, it offers up a nose of toasty oak, Asian spices, incense, blueberry, and blackberry. On the palate it has excellent flavors in a plush, nearly opulent style. The wine is balanced, rich, fleshy, and ripe. Drink this full flavored effort over the next 6-8 years’”
