Tenuta La Badiola

In 2000 the Moretti family purchased Tenuta La Badiola. The estate belonged to Grand Duke of Tuscany who used it as his summer residence in the 1800's. The Duke built his Villa most conveniently nearby an underground spring, Acquagiusta. The Moretti family decided to convert the Villa into a world class hotel and partnered with Chef Alain Ducasse to create the 5 star resort L'Andana. On their 500-hectares they set up the La Badiola Winery which presses grapes from 30 hectares of hillside vineyards to produce Acquagiusta. They produce olive oil from an olive grove planted during the time of the Duke, and they set up a stock farm where they are raising Maremma cattle.

Acquagiusta Rosato

Made from 100% Alicante. Acquagiusta rosé is the “wildest” of the estate and perhaps the most original. What makes it special? An ability to transcend the formulas of the numerous other wines produced from Alicante. Though it certainly respects tradition, its interpretation is defined by originality and an innovative vision. Besides, in Maremma Alicante is not “just” a varietal but also a concept, a true protagonist and storyteller of this land.
