Domaine Collin Bourisset

Established in 1821, Collin Bourisset is located in Crêches-sur-Saône at the edge of the Beaujolais and Mâconnais districts. Beyond producing its own in-house wines, Collin Bourisset is the exclusive producer and marketer for the Hospices de Romanèche-Thorins as well as the Hospices de Lyon. Since the Medieval Ages, hospitals in Burgundy accumulated rows and soon hectares of vines as payment for their care of growers and their families. In the last century, and until 1926, each vintage of the Hospices was sold at public auction to provide funding for the care of the sick. An alternative to the more costly Hospices de Beaune, the wines of Hospices de Romanèche-Thorins and Hospices de Lyon have a rich history that compliments their classic Burgundy heritage. These wines are rarely available outside of France, and Vision Wine Brands proudly brings them as well as a selection of Collin Bourisset vintages to the American market.

Pinot Noir Haut Vigne

The grapes that make up this 100% Pinot Noir are harvested, with total destemming, from vineyards in Ardeche and Auvergne. Maceration occurs for 10 to 15 days in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks. 12 to 18 months after harvest the wine is bottled. It is clean pure and delicious Pinot Noir. An exceptional value!

Beaujolais-Villages Domaine des Hopsices Civils de Lyon

The Estate of Hospices Civils de Lyon was created from donations over centuries, specifically during the 1880-1920 period. The total profits generated by this estate go to improving the accommodation of patients in the hospital. Since the 1994 harvest, Collin Bourisset is the exclusive distributor of Beaujolais-Villages des hospices Civils de Lyon. Produced on the village of Le Perréon, this 100% Gamay wine uses grapes grown using sustainable viticulture on soils of granite and clay. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinification occurs in the typical Beaujolais fashion with submerged cap. Maceration lasts 7 to 10 days.

Moulin-à-Vent des Hospices

Since the early 19th Century the patients of the Hospices in Romanèche-Thorins bequeathed sections of vineyards to the hospital, as compensation for their care. Located at the southern tip of Burgundy, the vineyards have accumulated to form an estate of more than 6 hectares. Beginning with the 1926 vintage, Collin-Bourisset, recognized as a Moulin-à-Vent specialist, was put in charge with the exclusive care of producing, aging and marketing this superb wine. This wine is produced from 100% Gamay grapes grown on soil that has prevalent granite with manganese using sustainable viticulture. Grapes are harvested by hand only, with vinification in whole bunches with submerged cap and destemming. Traditional, long fermentation, between 10 to 12 days ensures the wine keeps an excellent color and has superb tannin extraction. The wine is then partially aged in oak barrels.

Morgon Côte du Py

The 100% Gamay grapes that constitute this wine come from an estate that is at the meeting points of the Beaujolais Crus Morgon, Fleurie and Chiroubles. The south east-facing vineyard totals 15 hectares with soils characterized by schist and broken granite. The vineyards are farmed using sustainable viticulture. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, with selected whole bunches loaded in fermentation tanks. Neither desteming nor crushing occur. Traditional vinification with immersed cap lasting about 10 to 12 days is followed by aging for 6 months in oak casks. The wine is bottled after 2 months.
