Chateau Vieux Manoir

Purchased in 1989, the Château Vieux Manoir is a charming Manor from the 11th century, which was a former hunting house of the Duke of Epernon. It was completely restored to keep its original characteristics of authenticity. The vineyard is located in the commune of Targon 35 kms North East of Bordeaux and is 25 hectares in size. The Soils are limestone, clay and gravel, and the wines are a blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.

VINEYARD Soil: Limestone and clay-gravels. Surface: 45 hectares Location: The vineyard is located in the communes of Targon 35 kms North East of Bordeaux. Average age of the vineyard: 30 years Grape varieties: 60% Merlot / 35% Cabernet Sauvignon / 5% Cabernet Franc VINIFICATION Classical vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats with micro- oxygenation. Fermenting at low temperature to favour the fruity flavours extraction. WINE TASTING Dark and thick colour with nice bright highlights. The bouquet is powerful with lightly spiced red fruits aromas. The attack is generous and round with a mid-palate marked by ripe tannins. The finish is supple and quite long. This wine is well-balanced with a good breadth.
